Welcome to the 56th Winnipeg Schools’ Science Fair 2026! Bienvenue à l’expo-sciences des écoles 2026!
WSD is pleased to host the Winnipeg Schools’ Science Fair (WSSF) for English- and French-speaking students in Grades 7 to 12. WSSF is open to all schools across the city.
WSSF is an opportunity for students to explore their curiosity, share their ideas, and get excited about science. It will be held again at Tec Voc High School.
Key Dates
Registration Deadline: March 6, 2026
Fair and Judging: April 7, 2026 at Tec Voc Gym
Awards Ceremony: April 9, 2026 at Tec Voc Theatre
Registration
Students must register with the assistance of their designated science fair teacher rep at their school.
Guidelines
Science fair project guidelines are set by Youth Science Canada. When planning a science fair project, students can choose from three project types:
Discovery: Test a specific hypothesis using the scientific method.
Innovation: Design and evaluate a new device, model, or approach in areas like technology or engineering.
Creative: Explore science through imaginative ideas, creative design, and engaging presentations.
Students must also choose a challenge category that best fits their project. Categories reflect real-world topics such as health, environment, energy, technology, food systems, Indigenous knowledge, and sustainability.
Thank you to the students, teachers, mentors, and families who help make WSSF a success year after year!
