Registering Your Child for School

What school should my child attend?

The first step in registering your child, is to determine the schools that serve your home address. Use our Find A School app to determine which Winnipeg School Division schools are your home or catchment-area schools. Simply type in your street name in the search box and follow the prompts or click on the map to see your child's early, middle or senior years schools, as well as the schools your child may attend for our many language programs.

Registration Process

Registration packages are available at all schools in person and on their websites under registration. Please connect with the school directly if you require any help accessing or filling out the required documents.

When registering your child for school, you will need to provide:

  1. Proof-of-age documentation for your child (e.g., birth certificate, baptismal certificate, passport, Manitoba Health Card, INAC status card, birth registration signed by the director of Vital Statistics)
  2. Two pieces of identification for proof of residency (e.g., driver’s licence, Manitoba Health Card, tenancy agreement, offer to purchase documents).

Transportation

For students in Nursery through Grade 6, who attend their catchment-area school and are over 1.6 km away, you may be eligible for transportation. Requests for transportation must be made at the school the child is registering at. All students must be registered for school first, prior to arranging transportation.
