Artist Inspired Art

At the end of January, the primary team at Sargent Park School spent a day with Winnipeg School Division art consultant Joe Halas.  We engaged with a variety of art works, artists and mediums to consider approaches for engaging young children in the process of describing, interpreting, analyzing appreciating and creating visual art. We examined the Manitoba arts curriculum butterfly and its four “wings” as well as the Feldman approach to arts education and appreciation.
