Riverview Students with Mario Snow Sculpture

A Winnipeg resident in the Riverview neighbourhood is adding joy and excitement to the students and staff at École Riverview School.

On one of the coldest days of the year, the resident spent the entire day outside, creating a snow sculpture of Mario from the Mario Brothers. This project was done entirely for the community, staff and students of Riverview to enjoy.

In previous years the artist has created a Minion and Olaf from the Disney movie Frozen.

Christophe Asselin and Yussef Hawash are long-time teachers at Riverview. Asselin says the sculptures are entertaining. "It's fun to see what character is chosen each year."

Hawash agrees, saying, "I feel that each year the sculptures are so well done, and they're recognizable by all of our students."

January is historically one of the coldest months of the year, and the sculpture has added a great deal of excitement, positivity and chatter at École Riverview School.
