Ms. Mackenzie

November 4, 2025

I hope everyone has had a chance to step outside and soak up the beautiful fall weather! It's the perfect time for fresh air, colorful leaves, and cozy moments with friends and family.

Throughout November we will be continuing our investigating about the importance of the land and special places, as well reviewing the provinces and territories and capital cities of Canada.

In English Language Arts, we will continue to work on sentence structures, opening and closings for writing and punctuation.

In math, we will be continuing to learn more about place value and time.

In Science, we’ve been shining a light on… well, light! We’re discovering how it works and why it’s important.

A big thank you to all the families who are helping their children grow as readers! Spending just 15–20 minutes reading together each evening is a wonderful way to strengthen reading skills and build confidence.

While you're out for a walk or driving in the car, try some fun skip counting practice! Counting forward and backward by 2s, 3s, 4s, 5s, and 10s helps students become faster and more accurate when working with numbers. It’s a simple and playful way to boost math skills on the go!

I look forward to connecting with you during Parent/Teacher interviews on November 20th and 21st. This is a wonderful opportunity for you to discuss your child’s strengths and next steps.
