1762296232617.4ea1b134581.jpegWe have had a very busy month here in our classroom. We have been continuing to learn about Canada and are almost finished our projects on the province or territory of our choice.  We had to draw some very intricate and tricky Coats of Arms for some of our booklets.

In ELA we have been doing many different writing opportunities. One of the things we do every week is We Will Write Wednesdays. This is an online program with different writing prompts. We are practicing our typing skills and our writing skills at the same time. It is a lot of fun. The program even counts how many words the class types all together. We have challenged ourselves to try and get over 3000 words this month.

In math we are continuing to learn about place value and rounding. We are also beginning to talk about different types or graphs, how to read them and which ones we would choose to represent different types of information. We have decided as a class to begin something called Thinking Thursday where we work in groups on multistep math problems. They have been a little tricky but we are enjoying the challenge.

In Science we are continuing our inquiry into the Oceans. We are currently learning about all the different zones of the ocean. We have been especially intrigued by the Abyssopelagic and the Hadopelagic Zones.  The animals that live in the deepest part of the oceans are very strange and interesting to learn about. Have you ever seen an Angler Fish or a Dumbo Octopus?
