Universal Hot Lunch

We are excited to announce our universally available nutrition lunch program pilot that started last school year, made possible by increased funding from the Province of Manitoba and continued support from The Winnipeg School Division, Breakfast Clubs of Canada, Child Nutrition Council of Manitoba, President’s Choice Children’s Charity, and community organizations and members. This program is offered every Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday for all Mulvey students from Grades 1-6. It is also available for Nursery and Kindergarten students to take home to enjoy, with prior arrangements. It is open to all students, regardless of whether they are currently registered in the regular lunch program.

Important Registration Information:

• Registration Required: Even if your child will only be participating in the free lunch program on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays, they must still be registered in the lunch program. This aids in the organization of supplies, supervision, as well as food requirements (ex: allergies, food restrictions, etc.). Registration link: Lunch Program Registration
• Daycare Students: On Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays, Daycare staff will pick up food and bring it to the Daycare centre for the students to enjoy.
• Menu Availability: The monthly menu will be listed in the school newsletter, available on a poster outside of the office, and sent home as a hard copy with your child if requested. There will be vegetarian and meat selections each Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday (allergies and food restrictions will be considered).
• Alternative Lunch Options: If your child does not prefer the menu selection on a given day, please send a lunch from home with them if they are regularly attending Mulvey School Lunch program. If they do not regularly attend the Mulvey School Lunch program and do not prefer the menu selection you can continue with your regular routine of going home for lunch as usual, as long as the office is made aware.
