Mrs. Husack

December 8, 2025

Happy November! This month, we have been talking about Kindness, Peace, and Friendship. We have spent time noticing the kindness in our classroom and filled our classroom kindness tree with all our acts of kindness!

In English Language Arts, we continue to have our Literacy Power Hour. It’s been wonderful observing students gain more confidence in their reading skills! We have also been developing our skills as writers. We are working on creating sentences, starting with a capital and ending with a period. We have been practicing sounding out words and using our best spelling strategies. In Math, we have been talking about different ways to represent numbers, such as with tallie marks, words, and pictures. We have been practicing skip counting, through songs and we have been talking about ways to make 10 with friendly numbers. In Science, we have been focused on our sense of smell. We got to be scientists and investigate different smells to figure out what we liked and what we didn’t like. In Social Studies, we have been talking about our city and what special places we’ve been to.

For the month of December, we will continue practicing sentence writing through weekend news and creative writing. In Science, we will wrap up our 5 senses unit and in Social Studies, we’ll be talking about our province.

Thank you to all our families for attending parent teacher conferences in November. It was lovely to connect with all of you. Thank you for being a partner with me on this learning journey with your child.
