Room 7 ~ Grades 1 & 2

March 4, 2024

           Welcome to Room 7

Grades 1 - 6 2023 School Supply List.pdf

Happy March, everyone! February was a very busy month in Room 7. We celebrated I Love to Read Month, Valentine’s Day, the 100th day of school, the loss of many teeth and watched an incredible dance showcase by the School of Contemporary Dancers.  As we prepare for upcoming report cards and March student led conferences, I have had the opportunity to spend some great 1:1 time with every student. This is my favorite time because sometimes the days fly past so quickly that I don’t get the chance to point out to them how much they have grown. I have seen loads of growth with every one of the kiddos and feel a lot of pride in their achievements – they also are very proud of how much they have learned and grown since November.

We have been reading and writing nonfiction books this past month, so they have been able to combine their love of animals of all sorts with reading and writing. They have been learning about the senses with our student teacher, Ms. V (and we will unfortunately be saying farewell to her mid March). We both look forward to meeting with you all at the upcoming student led conferences on March 14 and 15. Watch for more information to come. Some reminders: please make sure children have indoor running shoes for gym and the arts, a reusable water bottle for classroom use and, proper outdoor gear for the ever-changing weather. Thanks for your cooperation. We have had to send home a couple of lice warning letters over the month of February please be sure you are checking your child’s hair/scalp regularly to prevent classroom outbreaks. I understand how time consuming it is and truly appreciate any and all efforts to keep those critters to a minimum.
