Room 15 was fortunate to be invited to participate in a Reading Celebration at Richlu Centre on Inkster Blvd at the end of April. This event was sponsored by “First Books Canada” and the terrific people at TD Bank hosted the event.
The “ Reading Party” included a wonderful local author who read her book to students. All of the children received her latest book and then she signed it for them. Rhonda Taylor from Frontier College, who is in charge of our “Summer Literacy Camp in August” and the TD Bank also took time to read to students. Our students had such a great time.
We were also pleased that First Books Canada gave us a lot of books for our older students. They will be receiving them soon. Be on the lookout for some great reads coming home!
