Programs for students with Autism (ASD)

February 8, 2021

These centres are designed for students enrolled in Nursery through grade 12 (to age 21) who have a diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Disorder, including deficits in communication, social interaction, daily living skills and an intellectual disability.

Determining placement in a specialized low enrollment setting is a collaborative process involving the school, parent/guardian and Inclusion Support Services.  Information from community agencies may be considered.

Programming will focus on supporting students in achieving growth in academics, communication, self-management, social and daily living skills.

The students require specialized services and programming to meet their unique learning needs.  All students will have an Individual Education Plan (IEP) and progress is reviewed regularly to determine appropriate programming.
